Sela Ward believes that the secret to a happy life is to take everything in her own time and at her own pace.
Although she considers herself a late bloomer, having married at age 35 and becoming a mom twice over between the ages of 37 and 41, she is very much enjoying life in her 40’s. The television actress says this is the most magical time for her and people around her attest to it. They all feel her uninhibited energy. It’s no wonder women her age see her as a role model.
Taking on a good diet plan and a wonderful fitness routine helps keep her outlook this way. And while she indulges in Krispy Kreme doughnuts once in a while, the actress exercise three times a week using the StairMaster in her LA home, as well as following a regimented exercise program. Low-fat or low-calorie meals are also delivered to her when she’s at work, in keeping with her healthy diet plan.
Sela Ward follows the Flat Belly diet. The main thrust for this diet plan is in allowing one to basically eat certain food combination to enjoy a flat belly for life. This may sound like a difficult undertaking, but the Flat Belly diet plan promises some 15 pounds of healthy weight loss in a month, if you are wondering how to lose weight.
The diet plan, which must be observed for at least 28-days, is devised by Cynthia Sass who is a registered dietitian and a nutrition director at Prevention. Its emphasis is on eating unrefined foods like fruits, whole grains, vegetables, lean protein, beans and nuts and the occasional red meat. Combined with this diet plan, food intake must also be rich in monounsaturated fat (or MUFA) at meal times. This includes olives, sunflower oil, peanut butter, pesto sauce, soybean, flax and dark chocolate.
According to Cynthia Sass, “Research shows that MUFAs have health benefits and target belly fat. They also help control satiety, so by adding in one MUFA at meals and snacks it is easier to stick with the diet and lose belly fat”.
Sela Ward’s diet plan is set at 1600 Calories per day.
If you would like to take on the diet, you must first undergo a four-day anti-bloat diet plan to set one’s mind and body. During this phase, drinking about two liters of water that includes blended herbs and spices with cucumber is recommended. This should help get rid of that heavy, sluggish feeling.
The diet is a very effective weight loss program. It may be undertaken without exercise.
Aside from her home exercise, Sela Ward has worked with fitness trainer Tracy Effinger using the Squeeze fitness routine, which has become very famous with fitness junkies.
Basically, this exercise is based on using small movements that aims to tone specific areas in the body. The Squeeze fitness routine does not have any need for heavy exercise equipment. For a multiple arm exercise for instance, one only needs to use weights weighing two to three pounds.
The Squeeze fitness routine was devised for toning and lengthening once’s body. Its movement is inspired by other exercise programs such as Pilates, a dance floor work like ballet, and mat exercise. It is actually considered “low-impact” but delivers the best result.
This fitness routine starts of with an upper body and waist exercise, followed by the lower body and abs exercise. Mothers who are far more preoccupied to follow a strict exercise program will benefit from this because the exercise can be done in ten minutes at at time and even while the mom’s have to play with their kids.
The Squeeze is a fitness exercise routine followed by many of Hollywood celebrities.
