Actress Minka Kelly captured a lot of eyes – both men and women alike when she played Autumn on 500 days of Summer. Your thought bubble might’ve been who’s that girl and how did she get such a fierce looking body? And now that Minka’s playing one of Charlie’s angels, more eyes are on her. With a character that’s expected to kick ass, Minka knows that she needs to be in tip top shape all the more in order to meet the physical demands of her newest role.

Minka Kelly actually does have someone helping her with her fitness exercise program. It’s none other than the sought after fitness trainer to the stars, Gunnar Peterson. She does her weight loss workouts with Gunnar three times a week. But aside from that, Minka also does cardio exercise on her own. She goes running when she has the time.

To stay motivated, Minka says she watches Beyonce videos while she does her fitness exercise program. Her fitness trainer, Gunner Peterson, also gives her motivation.
“There are days when I wake up and my body is tired so I’ll give myself permission to skip my fitness exercise program. I just know that if I don’t go, I’ll feel a certain way the next day,” she says. “The only fitness training exercises I don’t miss are my three days a week with Gunner.”
For Kelly, weight loss workouts is more mental than it is about muscle.
“When I’m at the gym, I’m not thinking about anything else but my running, my breathing,” she explains. “It’s all about me and only me for those 45 minutes. And I’m giving myself that time to not let anyone in my world or to bother anyone else in theirs. Once you’re able to clear your head like that, it’s easier to put things in perspective and know what’s important and what isn’t important.”
“Exercise is like meditation for me. And I’m giving myself that time!” “I’ve been working out with [fitness trainer] Gunnar Peterson and it’s completely changed my body, my life, everything. I cannot live without it now. When you have such a good workout, it clears everything up mentally, physically, and you just have a better day.”
She says,
“I have a picture I ripped out of a magazine of this girl. It’s a Nike ad. On it, it says, ‘Make yourself proud.’ She’s sweaty because she just finished her fitness exercise program and she just looks really fit. I look at that and it reminds me to work to be healthy every single day. Some days you don’t, but as long as you come back the next day and get back on track, that’s all you can do.”
Minka Kelly’s Secrets on Loosing Weight
If you want to lose weight, what you eat amounts for 70% of the whole program. In other words, when you want to lose weight, it is 70% what you eat and 30% exercise. Minka Kelly understands this but once in awhile it’s actually good to splurge and enjoy your favorite foods. The 30-year-old may not be the healthiest person, but her diet plan is pretty balanced.
I don’t want to stay on a diet plan for the rest of my life,” she confesses. “If you don’t let yourself have the things you want, especially when it comes to something as simple as food, you’ll fill and end up being less healthful.
Minka’s breakfast diet consists of egg whites and oatmeal, a salad with protein for her lunch diet plan, and fish and veggies as part of her dinner diet plan. However, when she feels like it, she doesn’t stop herself from indulging on a cheeseburger and some fries.
Minka Kelly also admits that she has a sweet tooth but says she eats sweets in moderation, and usually after dinner.
I don’t feel like dinner’s done unless I have a sweet. I’d rather go for a small slice of real chocolate cake than a bunch of sugar-free cookies. It’s all moderation.
