Kara Dioguardi Gives as a Weight Loss Formula for all 40 Something Celebrities Like Us!
Kara Elizabeth Dioguardi is an American-Italian singer songwriter, record producer, music publisher, A&R executive and TV personality. She primarily writes music in the light pop-rock, dance, and R&B genres. She’s worked with the likes of American Idol Alumni Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Katherine McPhee, Kelly Clarkson, the popular American boyband, Backstreet Boys, pop princess Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera just to name a few. But she’s best known as one of the fiesty American Idol judges. She won the heart of America when she told Simon Cowell to shut his trap.
Kara Dioguardi is featured in the April issue of Women’s Health Magazine and she talked about what it’s like to be an Italian-American woman on a diet plan. She also talked about what she does for her fitness training exercise program and even gave some great weight loss tips.
The Weight Loss Diet Plan of an Almost Forty Something Woman
“Going on diets is not really my thing. I am an eater – an Italian who doesn’t eat is an outcast – but I do it in moderation. I make a special dish of vegetables and sausage with garlic oil. If I want to get crazy, I make rice – lasagna too.”
But this TV personality hasn’t always been on a healthy weight loss diet plan. In fact, Kara Dioguardi admits to have suffered an eating disorder – a binge eating disorder. Kara Dioguardi said that she never induced vomiting nor starved herself as some other Hollywood celebrities do when they’re trying to lose weight but there was an emotional connection to her excessive eating. She explained, “It was definitely that excess eating to kind of just stuff all the emotions down… I really was a creative kid who didn’t know she was creative and didn’t have those outlets because I was always afraid to join the theater group and not perform.” She continues, “The moment I started doing music, the moment I did what I loved to do in my life and committed to it, I didn’t have those problems anymore… I have my outlet now. I have that form of expression. I can go to the studio and talk about my feelings.”
Now that she’s almost 40, she’s learned to smarten up about her weight loss diet plan. While most women in Hollywood are afraid to admit that they eat sweets, Kara Dioguardi does not. In fact, she claims that she basically becomes unstable to the idea that she cannot have sweets in her diet plan! Kara Dioguardi’s weight loss diet plan is not only balanced, it is smart. Sweets are allowed, but in moderation of course. She also makes sure to drink lots of water and get eight hours of sleep a night because these are also great weight loss helps.
Kara Dioguardi’s Fitness Training Exercise Program
Kara Dioguardi also said that aside from having a healthy weight loss diet plan, she also makes sure to stick to her fitness training exercise program in order to stay in shape. She admits that her bikini body is the result of regular fitness exercise and eating right. As for her exercise program, she goes to the gym four times a week and she will either run two miles on one of the treadmill fitness machines or do 25 minutes worth of cardio exercise. “Boxing, treadmill, step-ups, walking lunges, sprints… I mix up my fitness training exercise,” she says. “And weight training exercises are important as you get older also. You build muscle, which burns fat when you’re at rest.” When asked if she does Yoga or Pilates exercises, the Idol judge said although she finds that these exercises are popular among celebrities, she thinks it’s overrated.
And when asked about the reason she prefers boxing to Pilates exercises, a fitness exercise that she does three times a week for about an hour, she said it’s because she wanted a fitness training that would help her build stamina and improve her cardio exercise conditioning. Boxing is perfect for that. And all that swinging also tones her arms, which is an extra benefit. “The people in my life have no qualms about telling me when I don’t look great!” confesses Kara Dioguardi, giving her loved ones credit for getting her into her fitness exercise program.
