Crysral Renn Weight Loss Struggles
Crystal Renn is an American fashion model and author. She began her career as a model at a young age, modeling high fashion at the age of 14 after being spotted by a professional scout in her hometown in Mississippi. She’s considered to be far from being an ordinary model as she is a healthy size 14 and has built a reputation for herself as a sexy model with natural curves. Although she’s not a size zero kind of model, Crystal Renn has plenty of work going her way. Channel and Gaultier are just two labels that are featuring the hot model in their campaigns. The 24-year-old has recently appeared in Look Magazine showing off her fabulous curves while modeling High Street fashion. Although she’s now a confident model, happy with her body weight, Crystal used to struggle with having an unhealthy weight loss that led her to be anorexic.
Crystal Renn’s Weight Loss
“My path to an unhealthy weight loss program started gradually. I switched my weight loss diet plan to whole wheat bread or eating eggs instead of beef. Just making everything in my unhealthy weight loss diet plan lower in fat. Then my unhealthy weight loss diet plan came to cutting out desserts completely. I ended up with 30 lbs of rapid weight loss in 2 months, but then I plateaued. That’s when my unhealthy weight loss program got pretty serious. I started doing my fitness exercise program everyday between 1 hour and 8 hours as part of my weight loss plan. I wouldn’t eat anything in my weight loss diet plan that’s above a thousand calories. And then I started my rapid weight loss again. And this was all before I was even modeling yet. I was 15.”
When she was already in New York booking jobs, she maintained a weight between 105 and 95 lbs. When asked if she and her agency noticed that she was already undergoing an unhealthy weight loss, she said “I think you had to be aware that something was wrong with my rapid weight loss program — the veins coming out of my arms, the lack of energy, the hair falling out, being in a sullen dark place all the time. That’s not normal for a 16-year-old girl. But they pushed me harder to lose weight and even set me up with a very expensive fitness trainer to become my weight loss help. I think they turned the other way.”
Recently, the plus size model has caused quite a stir in the World Wide Web again after images came out portraying her to have undergone a major weight loss. A lot of people were shocked by how much weight loss she’s had especially after she looked to have experienced a weight loss before walking in the last Chanel cruise show.
Crystal Renn’s agent Gary Dakin was contacted and he had this to say about the unhealthy weight loss controversy:
“She is still a 39-40 hip (her weight loss is as normal as any woman), and a solid size 10. She has no urge [to lose weight]. She’s an amazing model. She can make herself look bigger or smaller depending on what the client wants.”
Crystal Renn herself has spoken out, saying that she wants people to “feel reassured that I am taking care of myself and am very happy. I am a size 10. My weight loss is due to body adjustment because of getting back to a fitness exercise program after a seven-year hiatus.” As for what started the weight loss: “It started with stress. Then, to take care of the stress, I turned to fitness exercise. I did cardio exercise by hiking in Patagonia for three weeks. Since then, I have continued my cardio exercise by hiking and have established a regular yoga exercise and meditation program.” She told Glamour: “It took me seven years to be ready to go back to the gym because I took to extremes my fitness exercise program during my eating disorder.”
Crystal Renn also told Glamour that there was absolutely no a pressure for her to lose weight: “In fact, I recently [saw] Karl Lagerfeld, and he said, ‘Did you lose weight since my show? Don’t you undergo a weight loss!’ And I remember thinking, ‘I’ve actually gained an inch; must be the outfit! But no, don’t worry, I won’t undergo another unhealthy weight loss program.’ And Carine Roitfeld, editor of Vogue Paris also said to me, ‘Don’t lose weight. You’re very beautiful just how you are.’ That support means so much to me.”
