Carrie Underwood Talks about Her Weight Loss of 20 Pounds
Weight loss secrets from Carrie Underwood
When Carrie Underwood won American Idol in 2005 she not only found stardom but also the scrutiny of the media. Just a little bit on the curvy side, she was suddenly labelled fat and she had to do something about it.
She told Shape magazine “There’s nothing worse than going online and reading that someone has called you chubby.”
Only 5-feet-3 inches tall the country singer had a weight loss of 20 pounds and went from a size 6 to a size 2-4. So what did Carrie do to lose weight? What kind of weight loss program did she put herself into? Did she have a weight loss diet plan and a fitness exercise program?

Healthy Weight Loss Step #1:
Food Journal: Carrie keeps track of her diet plan. She writes down everything she eats and notes the calorie content, number of carbohydrates and fat grams.
Healthy Weight Loss Step #2:
Vegetarianism: Carrie loves her fruit and veg so she’ll eat animal-free foods such as soy-based sausage, Flatout Tortilla Pizza, Quorn nuggets and Kashi bars.
Healthy Weight Loss Step #3:
Part of Carrie’s healthy weight loss success is due to fitness trainer Jillian Michaels who developed a fitness training exercise program for her. Carrie like the fitness training exercise program videos produced by Biggest Loser fitness trainer, Jillian Michaels and when she’s angry she’ll give the punching bag a good beating.
Carrie Talks Fitness Exercise Program
Now, super star Carrie Underwood says she loves to do her fitness training exercise program because it makes her feel strong and sexy.
“There’s just something sexy about feeling strong,” Underwood says about her fitness training exercise program.
And, not only has engaging in a fitness training exercise program made her feel amazingly healthy, it has also helped her achieve her weight loss goal of 20 pounds since she shot to fame as an American Idol winner back in 2005, now weighing in at an ultra slim 110 pounds.
Underwood does her fitness training exercise program regularly with a personal fitness trainer, does isometric fitness exercises, cardio exercise by doing kick boxing and running on the treadmill exercise equipment, and utilizes fitness exercise program DVDs. She especially loves doing her fitness exercise program with the kettleball exercise equipment because it exercises so many different muscles at once.
“When I gain weight, it’s in the spare-tire area,” she says. “I’ve told fitness trainers abs are a physical impossibility for me. And every single time, they’re like, ‘Well, we’ll get you abs!’ So do I have them? No! But they’re as flat as they’re probably going to get.”
And, although her abs are not sculpted, she wants to keep them flat so she makes it a point to do a fitness exercise activity every morning even when she is maintaining a hectic schedule while on tour. Her early morning fitness exercise program keeps her feeling energized all day long.
Carrie does her fitness exercise program regularly. “If I can wake up and get a good cardio exercise session in a class at a nearby gym or on the treadmill exercise equipment, I’m happier throughout the day,” she says
Carrie Underwood’s Healthy Weight Loss Diet Plan
In addition to having a good fitness training exercise program to stay energized, Carrie relies on a healthy weight loss diet plan.
“Once you get into a routine of having a healthy weight loss diet plan, it hurts twice as much when you fall off the wagon,” she says about her healthy weight loss diet plan.
She loves to include low sugar oatmeal as part of her healthy weight loss diet plan when she is on the road and is a big pizza fan as well. However, she mostly maintains a low calorie vegetarian weight loss diet plan that includes foods such as veggie burgers or soy based sausages.
“I shop for my own food when I’m on tour,” Carrie shares. “I always hear, ‘You shop yourself?’ I would hate to see the day when someone else had to buy my groceries for me,” says Underwood, who’s a long time vegetarian. “It’s a very human thing to do, and that’s why I love it so much.”
This way, Underwood says that even when she’s working, she is able to stick to a healthy weight loss diet plan to keep the weight off.
She adds: “When you’re out on the road, people see you as a performer — not necessarily as a human being, first and foremost. So it’s really nice to go and do things that people do!”
