Ashlee follows a form of the South Beach Diet, but eats whatever she craves in moderation. In 2008 she graced the cover of Shape Magazine “I never thought I’d be on the cover of a magazine in a bikini,” says Ashlee. “But now is the time and place to show the world how I’m feeling about myself. I’m happy and definitely more confident than I’ve ever been before.”
Ashlee Simpson’s Exercise
Ashlee has said she doing Pilates to stay toned and lean. As of 2008 she has been working with Mike Alexander, the trainer that worked with her sister for Daisy Dukes. He comes to her house, where she has a treadmill, an elliptical and 5- to 7-pound dumbbells, and a jump rope. “I love it when my arms are toned, so we use weights to target them – and we do lunges to give my small butt more shape,” Mike also will have her jog down 30 to 40 steps in Ashlee’s backyard and if she is at a hotel she will use the stairs there. “It’s the kind of workout you can easily modify depending on where you are, because hotels, office buildings and homes usually have stairs,” says Mike. She likes to keep her workouts moving to avoid bordom, so that mean circuit training everybody!
“Exercising makes me feel stronger and sexier,” she says. “It just makes my whole day better. I have more energy to perform, my head is clearer—which helps me write my lyrics—and I sleep better. What more can you ask for?”
