Gym in a Bag

Celebrity Trainer David Kirsch gives us some tips he used to train Anne Hathaway for Get Smart and Liv Tyler for The Hulk.  “With Anne, I focused on shadowboxing to keep her long and lean—sparring, crossover punches and jumping jacks, with medicine ball crunches to work her core. Liv has amazingly long, gorgeous legs. So we focused on her upper body and torso: sprinting on the treadmill, seated rows, pullovers, flies and tricep extensions.”

David gave both ladies his gym bag  which includes;

  • One set of wrist weights (2.5 lbs or 5 lbs),
  • One medicine ball (2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 lbs)
  • The Ultimate New York Body Plan DVD

How Valerie Bertinelli Lost Weight

We all know The celebrity Valerie Bertinelli from “One Day at a Time” and from her marriage to ex-husband Eddie Van Halen. Valerie has been struggling with her weight for twenty years. Yo-yo dieting, and going through her share of depression, and self esteem issues.

Valerie was inspired by Kirstie Alley’s weight loss while on the Jenny Craig Diet, so she decided to “call Jenny.” Now some forty pounds lighter, it seems Valerie has found the right mix of diet and exercise to keep her in shape. Keep reading to find out all of Valerie’s weight loss secrets.

“I think my journey will be one that women over 40 can relate to — and follow.” “After turning 40, I realized I was never going to be a size 4. That’s fine with me.”

Diet

Valerie used the Jenny Craig Diet to drop forty pounds. “I never feel like I’m starving myself.” The diet relies on its own line of meals, snacks and treats, but it also includes plenty of fruit and unlimited servings of non-starchy vegetables like carrots, broccoli and tomatoes.

Exercise

“(In the past) If I used a pedometer and didn’t get 3,000 steps a day, I was like, ‘Oh, screw it!’?” Now Valerie walks at least 10,000 steps a day.

“When you lose weight slowly, you are actually losing pounds, not water, and you are more likely to keep it off.”
